Artist Bio

Hi, I’m Lydia O'Connor, an artist living in Witney, Oxfordshire. I graduated in 2018 with a BA in Fine Arts, where my focus was primarily on raising awareness of endangered species through sculpture and oil painting.

My journey as an artist has been one of constant evolution and experimentation. From traditional art, sculpture, photography & digital, I am always learning about new mediums and techniques to push the boundaries of what is possible. In 2019, I discovered digital art, and it was my primary mode of artistic expression for 5 years. The infinite possibilities it offers allow me to explore themes and styles that would not be possible with traditional media. However, I have found love for traditional mediums once again. I am heavily focused on producing my future works with oil paints, as this really allows me to express the textured realism/impressionism style I feel drawn to. Each piece I create tells a story and represents a piece of myself.

 Besides painting, I have another passion: gaming. Some of my favourites being Red Dead Redemption 2 as this game has a heavy focus on wildlife and animals. Another favourite is Fable 2 because of its whimsical and funny humour and the dog companion of course. I adore all animals, which fuels my passion for pet portraits and wildlife art.

Creating art that captures the essence of your pets and wildlife is my passion. I am driven by a love for the beauty of animals, and I am committed to preserving their beauty in my paintings. I crafted each piece with the respect that these animals truly demand. My portfolio is filled with pieces that reflect my core values, and my commitment to bringing awareness to the importance of wildlife conservation is unwavering.

As a pet portrait and wildlife painter, my goal is to capture the delicate beauty of some of our planet's most majestic creatures. I strive to create pieces that resonate with all those who view them, providing a sense of wonder and appreciation for the animals and their habitats. My passion for the natural world and its inhabitants is evident in every brushstroke. I hope that my pieces instil in others the same sense of awe and admiration that I feel when I see these creatures in their natural environments.

I'm dedicating my efforts to creating stunning oil paintings that capture the beauty of your pets and wildlife. Using digital art to form and compose my ideas before painting them traditionally, as this allows me to explore more freely.
